Net Worth Tracker

Net worth is the single number that tells you whether things are moving in the right direction. It is also the one most people have never actually worked out, because it means listing the debts too.

This stays on your device. Your figures are saved in this browser's local storage and never leave it. There is no account, no server, and nothing transmitted. Clearing your browser data clears this too, and opening the page on another device will show nothing.

What you own

What you owe

How this is calculated

Net worth, and what it does and does not tell you

net worth = everything you own − everything you owe

That is the whole formula. The difficulty is never the arithmetic. It is being honest about the second list. People reliably remember the mortgage and forget the car loan, the card balance, and the money owed to family.

A negative net worth is not a moral failing. It is the normal starting position for anyone with student debt or a new mortgage, and the number that matters is the direction it moves over time, not its sign today.

Value assets at what you could actually sell them for, not what you paid. A car is worth its resale value; a home is worth its market value minus what it would cost to sell. Retirement accounts count at their current balance even though you cannot reach them yet.
